Location: Witbank, Ellisras

Requirement Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for the continuous implementation and adherence of the Regions SHEQ Management systems and SHEQ legal requirements. The position offers a variety of tasks inclusive of, but not limited to ISO9001:2000, ISO14001:2004, SQAS Compliance, EMS programmes, OHASA, and Customers HSE requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Management of environment aspects & impacts.
  • Ability to incorporate environment laws effectively into companies systems & operations.
  • Complete management reviews in line with ISO standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments & surveys on various aspects of the business.
  • Ensure that legal registers are kept up to date.
  • Conduct SHEQ & SQAS audits as required as well as the ISO 19100 audit standard, backed by a remedial action plan
Skills, Experience & Educational Re:
  • Grade 12, with a University degree or diploma being a distinct advantage.
  • Must have a proven track record of at least five years experience in an OHASA, ISO Standards, SQAS environment, with the necessary skills and knowledge to administer SHEQ procedures and policies
  • Must possess the ability to manage people and also liase with contracted operators on various tasks within and outside the Company.
  • A good computer knowledge and efficiency is a prerequisite, with experience preferable in Excel and Word 2000.
  • Accuracy in figure work, administration, Statistics, graphs and report writing
  • Sound knowledge of the H & S Mining Act would be advantageous.
